Frequently Asked Questions about Sky Q Multiscreen

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SKY MULTISCREEN AND SKY MULTIROOM?

The difference between Multiscreen and Multiroom is just the name. We believe the name changed because with the streaming services added on means that you can stream on your phone, tablet and laptop not just in different rooms only on TV.

Alternatives to Sky Q Multiscreen

There are no alternatives to Sky Q Multiscreen with Sky, but Virgin Media does have a V6 box.

How can I watch Sky Q in another room without Multiroom?

You can watch Sky Q in another room by using a laptop to connect to Sky Go and stream the channels through your laptop or cast from your mobile device. You will still need a Mini box to connect directly to a TV with Sky Q.

If you use Sky Go, which does not require Sky Multiscreen, you will not be able to watch your recordings and it does not give you full access.

In order to watch Sky Q on other TVs you need to have a Sky Q mini box and Multiscreen enabled.

Do you need Sky Multiroom to use Sky Go?

No, you do not need Sky Multiroom to use Sky Go. You need to have Sky Q or Sky TV or Sky + to access Sky Go but not Sky Multiroom.

Multiscreen with Sky Go Extra

Yes, you do need Sky Multiscreen to use Sky Go Extra. In order to watch Sky Go Extra, you would need to have a subscription to Sky Q Multiscreen and connect your Sky Go app to your Sky Q box.

Sky Go Extra allows you to stream and download Sky TV on up to 4 devices anywhere you like.

Sky Q Multiroom without paying

Unfortunately you cannot get Sky Q Multiroom or Sky Q Multiscreen without paying the monthly subscription fee (£15 a month). There are a couple of options. You could use your gaming console to download Sky Go app, and access your Sky TV from there.

Can you watch Sky glass in another room?

Sky Glass does not work like this. If you have Sky Multiscreen, you would need to get a Sky Q Mini box and place this in the other rooms where you want to watch TV. If you want Sky Glass in multiple rooms, you would need to buy multiple Sky Glass TVs. In this case Sky Multiscreen is much cheaper.
