What is the best Virgin Media deal?

What is the cheapest Virgin Media broadband deal?

M125 is currently the cheapest standard new-customer broadband-only package at £23.99 per month.

Its average download speed of 132Mbps can comfortably support:

• Several simultaneous HD streams
• Multiple video calls
• Online gaming
• Web browsing and shopping
• Smartphones and connected home devices
• One or more 4K streams where other usage is reasonable

Do not dismiss M125 simply because Virgin sells packages exceeding 1Gbps.

For a normal household, the difference between 132Mbps and 1,136Mbps will be most obvious when downloading very large files. It will not make an ordinary webpage appear nine times faster.

Best Virgin Media deal for families

M250 is the safest general recommendation for a family.

It currently costs £25.99 per month, only £2 more than M125, and averages 264Mbps.

That provides substantial capacity for:

• Several people streaming at once
• Remote work and online lessons
• Gaming while other people use the connection
• Regular software and game downloads
• A growing collection of connected devices

M500 becomes more attractive when there are several demanding users or when large downloads are frequent.

Is the Virgin Media Gig1 deal worth it?

Gig1 is the standout deal in the current Virgin Media pricing structure.

For £29.99 per month, the offer provides:

• An average download speed of 1,136Mbps
• Netflix Standard with adverts at no additional charge
• WiFi Max at no additional charge
• Access to up to three WiFi Pods where required
• The 30Mbps room-speed guarantee

The £2 difference between M500 and Gig1 makes upgrading easy to justify for a household that values WiFi Max.

WiFi Max would otherwise cost £8 per month on an eligible non-Volt package, so its inclusion is potentially more important than the additional 620Mbps of headline download capacity.

Is Gig2 a good deal?

Gig2 Full Fibre currently costs £49.99 per month and averages 2,000Mbps.

It is not available throughout Virgin Media's established cable footprint. The property must be served by compatible newer Full Fibre infrastructure.

Gig2 can make sense for:

• Advanced users with multi-gigabit wired networks
• Extremely large households
• Professional workflows involving enormous downloads
• Users who need several simultaneous high-bandwidth connections
• People who can benefit from eligible enhanced upload options

Virgin Media currently includes Netflix Standard with adverts at no additional cost with:

If you already subscribe to Netflix directly, use the same email address when activating the Virgin entitlement so the existing direct subscription can be paused and managed through Virgin Media.

Using a different email address can leave two separate Netflix accounts running and result in duplicate billing.

Which Virgin Media deals include WiFi Max?

WiFi Max is included at no extra cost with Gig1, Gig2 and eligible Volt packages.

It can be added to eligible lower-speed packages for £8 per month.

The current WiFi Max guarantee provides:

Virgin Media broadband and TV deals

Virgin's television bundles can represent excellent introductory value, but their post-offer prices require even more attention than the broadband-only packages.

These are substantial discounts during the minimum term, but the published month-25 prices are extremely high.

Compare the bundle against buying broadband and streaming services separately. Include any O2 SIM cost and remember that Virgin and O2 services can involve separate contracts and bills.

Are Virgin Media Volt deals worth it?

Volt is available when the household has eligible Virgin Media broadband and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan.

Benefits can include:

• A broadband speed boost to the next available tier, up to 1Gbps
• Double O2 mobile data on eligible plans
• WiFi Max at no extra charge
• Up to three WiFi Pods where required
• O2 Priority access
• Eligible international roaming benefits

The current broadband-only M250 Volt package costs £28.99 per month before the separate cost of the relevant O2 service.

Compare the complete household cost. A free broadband speed boost does not compensate for paying too much for an unsuitable mobile plan.

Virgin Media's £300 switching credit

Virgin Media currently offers new customers up to £300 in account credit toward eligible early termination fees charged by their previous broadband provider.

The current promotion ends on 20 September 2026.

Important conditions include:

• You must be an eligible new switching customer
• You must claim within 60 days of activating Virgin Media
• You need proof of the final bill and early termination fee
• The previous provider's final bill must meet Virgin's date requirements
• The previous termination charge must have been paid
• The reward is Virgin Media account credit, not cash
• The maximum credit is £300
• Student, 30-day and Essential broadband customers are excluded

Do not cancel the old service or pay a termination fee solely because you have seen the headline promotion. Read the complete eligibility and claim process first.

Does Virgin Media charge a setup fee?

Virgin Media's current public information is inconsistent.

Its main broadband deals page and legal section say there are no mandatory setup or activation fees on current home broadband packages.

However, its installation FAQ still states that a £35 activation fee applies.

The pages agree that:

• QuickStart self-installation can be delivered without an additional charge
• An engineer is provided without an additional installation charge when QuickStart is unavailable
• If QuickStart is available but you choose an engineer instead, the appointment costs £30

Virgin Media annual price increases

Customers joining or renewing now normally receive terms stating that the monthly charge for the main services increases by a fixed £4 each April.

The increase applies to:

• The discounted monthly price being paid during the offer
• The standard monthly price scheduled after the offer expires

It does not normally provide a right to leave without an early disconnection fee because the increase is written into the contract.

A new 24-month agreement taken in September 2026 may pass through two April increases before its minimum term ends.
